Formed in 2009 comprising of The Meads of Asphodel front man Metatron and songwriter James Marinos. The Wolves of Avalon write blackened pagan metal with prog influence amidst tales of British legend and folklore.

James 'J.M' Marinos

Forging the band alongside Metatron in 2009, James 'J.M' Marinos has written and recorded all The Wolves releases since. Driving the band's musical direction through an ancient British landscape JM plays rhythm guitar, keyboards, second vocals and bass.

Metatron forged the band 'The Wolves of Avalon' in 2009 alongside J.M with the ambition to fuse British folk music into Blackened Metal. Writing the lyrics and performing vocals, Metatron guides us through a journey into ancient Britain.



Mike Lewin
Bass | Lead Guitar
Mike first joined The Wolves playing bass on our cover of 'Essence' and returned on 'Boudicca's Last Stand' to play bass and lead on several tracks. The album 'Across Corpses Grey' was co written and performed by Mike & J.M standing apart in our back catalogue as a blackened prog odyssey. Mike returns for our album 'Y Goddodin' to perform solos on many of the tracks.
Steve Wallace
Drums | Lead Guitar
Steve joined us from the start stepping in on drums for our first record 'Carrion Crows Over Camlan' and writing/playing acoustic guitar on the track 'Britain is Fallen'. Steve also performed drum duties on our album 'Across Corpses Grey' and has performed many of our most technical solos and lead work across all our releases.

Steve first joined The Wolves of Avalon in 2012 playing drums on our covers of both the Enslaved track 'Essence' and Bathory track 'Through Blood by Thunder'. Steve went on to perform drums on our full length 'Boudicca's Last Stand' and has returned for our latest release 'Y Gododdin'.
